Ilse Dreher (Dreieich)

Artist statement

Ilse Dreher sees in art a dialogue with our inner and outside world, a possibility to understand and shape our world. Above all, the fluid, the changing and the iridescent nature drives the artist. Therefore, in her installations, photographs and objects she repeatedly deals with the elements of air, water and earth and the light. Her credo: living in and with nature, being a part of nature, getting involved with nature.

Ilse Dreher lives and works in Dreieichenhain, Germany. 1967-1970 training advertising and industrial photography. 1971 studies at School for Photography, Hamburg-Rotherbaum. 1973-1982 studies Visual Communication at Hochschule für Gestaltung, Offenbach/ Main.

Awards: 1982 Kultur-Förderpreis der Stadt Dreieich, 2014 Kulturpreis der Stadt Dreieich mit Kunstinitiative Dreieich.
